So hey, everyone else is posting and I just realized that I haven't either!

I'm in love with life right now. I continue to be amazed with how much things change in a matter of months. I have awesome friends, I'm hanging out with the cool people that I would normally be intimidated by, and I actually feel as if I matter and contribute something. It's quite fantastic. I still really want a boyfriend, but I'm trying to simmer down and be patient instead of making up feelings for people that don't actually exist.

But yea, I still want to go to a party or something, but my friends are very against all of that, so oh well. I've also decided to stop going out and searching for that too, and waiting for someone to invite me along. It's probably for the better, even if it is kind of boring at times.

Sooo that's a bit of what I'm up to now. Oh, and I got a new phone, and I'm with Verizon now. Ask me for my new number if you so please. And my roommate Jessica and I rearranged our room this weekend, and now it's completely awesome and seems to have more room than it did before, which is good since it's the hang out spot for the rest of the group most of the time.

I'm totally putting off finishing my history paper right now, so I'll try to think of more to talk about next time I decide to post. Jaa~n

Update on teh college life! Everything is going pretty well, I like most of my classes except for Ethics, because the professor is just kind of all over the place and doesn't seem to be very organized, nor does he seem to have any plan for anything. Kind of makes it up as he goes along, which is kind of annoying. I DESIRE STRUCTURE! D<

I'm getting into the rhythm of things, which is good. Hard to believe it's only been 3 weeks. I started my workstudy job today in the Student Life office, which was pretty cool. Seems like I'm going to do a lot of cleaning and organizing because the office is super messy since they deal with all of the orientation stuff all summer. Going to be doing that tuesday and thursday mornings from 9-11.

Oh, last friday there was a foam bash, which is basically where they take a big inflatable pool and keep pouring soap foam into it while playing music. It was a lot of fun. Super soapy and messy though, and my skin is still kind of really dry from it.

Woosh!

College~

Yay another college post! I'm going to try posting on this more, since I suck at talking about my day over the phone and whatnot.

So I'm having a fantastic time here so far! My roommate Jessica is awesome, we're so alike! She's like a more outgoing and sociable version of me! And her best friend is commuting so we hang out with her a lot during the day, and we've also made some other friends on varying levels of weirdness. Our room is like super bare though, we have nothing on the walls besides calendars on either side, so we're going to go get posters today. So far I've done a bunch of the typical collegey things, like playing frisbee on the quad (I suck) and ping pong in the common room (I'm decent, despite the fact I send it flying where it shouldn't go). Orientation is exhausting though, we're in our groups and we go and do thing after thing after thing with like no time to do anything like go to the bookstore (which takes BN giftcards, much to my delight) which closes early on weekends.

Oh, and I have yet to get internet working on my computer. It's quite annoying. I'm on a computer in the residence hall lab, which is really really really slow. It took 15 minutes for it to start up! Ridiculous. But I'm going to IT this morning cause they're doing something in Shriner (one of the halls) but I don't know when. Yesterday we went to DC and the National Mall and Jessica and I decided to try to go see the White House, which was clear on the other side of where we were. Needless to say my legs hurt ;_;

Ok, for a long time now I've had my heart set on Hood. It was just perfect and I couldn't wait to get a banner to put on my bulletin board and send in the deposit and start wearing the hoodies and whatnot. But then today I visited the NSU campus, and it seemed quite awesome as well. Absolutely gorgeous campus, the library is enough to make a bibliophile cream his pants umpteen times (four floors! WITH ELECTRONIC BOOKCASES THAT MOVE JUST TO MAKE MORE SPACE FOR MORE BOOKS!) and really nice and big dorm rooms (bedroom area is about 12x15, i'd guess, and with a private bathroom between the two occupants, rather than a communal shower down the hall). Also the classes aren't as big as I had thought (about 30, 25 being average) and it has a lot of good stuff going for it. *sigh* I'll just see how I do with Hood's overnight visit this weekend.

Oh, and I saw the Bodies exhibit today, after visiting NSU. Pretty darn cool, but my favorite part was the section about the respiratory system. It had one podium with a healthy lung, then a podium with a smokers lung, and then a little see through podium/trash bin half-filled with cigarrette packs with a sign saying something about how you should stop smoking. But I found it hilarious how contrived it was, and just the set up. I'm sure that the majority of those packs were put there just for show, but I wonder if anyone actually put their packs in there. Hehe.

My little brother is the cutest! He doesn't look quite at skinny and alien-esque as he had before, and he now weighs about 8 lbs (twice his weight!) the way he should. And since he wasn't actually due until a couple of weeks ago, I guess he isn't really a month old as much as a newborn. He doesn't do much, he just kinda flails around and stares at everything making squeaky noises and apparently only cries when he's hungry or needs changing. I can only hope to have such a quiet baby someday, in about 10 or 15 years.

We had another power surge today, and now my computer doesn't work, AGAIN. asjfsakjdghksafdg STUPID MAC DESKTOPS. It keeps doing the loading screen for like 10 minutes. Of course this will probably be a false alarm, but still. It seems I can only properly trust laptops. ;___;

Waaah my feet hurt. I swept and mopped the whole Quiznos store last night and didn't get home til 11:30. The manager whose name I can't pronounce or remember asked me to do the front, but then that turned into doing behind the counter, and in the back as well. If it was just sweeping or mopping or just one or two sections I could do it, but not everything! And they have one of those crazy mops with the wooden handles and the most inefficient mophead ever. I have little or no strength, let alone upper body strength, so dragging that frigging mop around and doing anything more than pushing dirty water around doesn't do much. Plus the fact that everyone walks on the wet floor, making it dirty again, and making it need to be swept again doesn't help much. Uuuugh, Well I'm not even on next week's schedule since I'm going to Floridee on friday, so it's all good, I suppose. But I'm still so tired, especially since I have to go back in in what, 2 hours? But all I'm going to be doing is slicing meat, which I love because it's so repetitive and it means that I don't have to make sandwiches. Schwaaaa.

Speaking of cutting meat, I was cleaning the slicer last night and sliced open my index finger. Blood was EVERWHERE. It was awesome. It wasn't really everywhere though, it just got all over my hands, but it wasn't too bad. Maybe a cm deep. Still can't go without a bandage though or it'll start again.

Yesterday I was out running errands with Mom and had the sudden inexplicable inspiration to put effort into my looks, instead of just doing Random shirt + same jeans and jacket I've worn all week = Outfit every morning. So I went to Kohls, got a skirt and a few shirts, and I found my prom dress! It was quite a steal really, cause there was only one and it was in the clearance aisle and like $18. And it was just my size, albeit a wee bit big, but I can always take it in on the sides or something. It's a very cute strapless, knee-length cocktail-dressy number, And perfect seeing as I don't plan on having a date, so I didn't end up wasting $50 like I thought I would.

Oh, and we got the other car fixed. So my car is my car again. Yay! And I guess I'll start working fridays too after spring break, so I can stop worrying about my budget for college. Speaking of which, NSU's financial office is stupid cause they keep losing my paperwork.

Hey look, it's a meme I'll actually participate in!

1. Put your music player on "random." Skip songs with not-very interesting titles (such as "Concerto #4 in E minor")
2. List the titles of the first 25 songs to come up.
3. Put "in my pants" after each title.
4. Bold the ones that actually made you laugh

So I got my acceptance letter from Baldwin-Wallace. Huzzas and hoorays abound! But now this means I'll have to trek all the way to Ohio, to a town called Berea near Cleveland. A journey that will take about 6-10 hours (6 according to mapquest, 10 according to mom's friend). AND I got financial aid estimations from Randolph and BW (in email at the same time, no less!) and apparently BW, Hood, and RC will all cost about the same across the board, give or take a thousand or so. Jeez I was hoping that there would be huge differences to make my end choice easier.

Well, on the bright side, BW seems like a nice school. Good psyche labs and whatnot, from what I've heard.

NSU is still in the running, but in light of my social incompetence I decided that a smaller school would suit me better. But NSU tuition is also cheaper so who knows, I could get a free ride ^0^

Ugh, I can't figure out if I want to take the AP exams or not. Or rather, the AP Psych exam, cause I don't really care about English.

On one hand, its economical to spend $80 now rather than $200 later for college credits, blah blah blah. But then again, I had never intended to take the exam, because I'm taking the classes just because I wanted to learn or, in the English case, because it was better than dumbing myself down. I mostly just don't want to have to worry and stress over a big test that I don't really need in my last months of high school. April and May should be months for me to enjoy my college choice and feel that all is well and slack off. It's not time to dread going to take a 4 hour test and write essays.

The RIGHT answer is obvious, but I don't really wanna be right ;_;

So today was my last day at Pizza Hut. It was quite sad, but it was really nice to know that I was missed and that they cared about me so much. I really have made the best friends ever there, and I will miss spending so much time with them. But I've said that I'll be back in a heartbeat once Lawrence leaves and Ryan gets the promotion to GM he deserves. And Ryan and I exchanged numbers to keep in touch, which really meant a lot to me.

I miss them already ;_;

I think I've lost my iPod! Last time I saw it was last Tuesday when I was reading Ouran manga and I was all like "Hey, that scene was cool in the anime too!" and I watched it on my iPod, and then on Wednesday morning it was nowhere to be found. And I've even rearranged my room as suggested in the last post, but it didn't resurface there. It makes me kinda really upset because it was the only thing that had my library on it, because my original computer died and all of its successors haven't had any more than 10gb. And it was an 80gb! And I only ever used like a third of the space! And it had all of my dramas and animes that I had been following religiously, and it's SOOO tedious downloading and then converting them, cause it takes like 12 hours for a 30 minute episode.

The search continues ;___;

Edit

The search ends! I found it! And in my defense, it had not been in an obvious place like how these things usually turn up. It had been between the liner and the exterior of my bookbag, cause there's a hole in one of the side pockets. Crazy, eh? And all today I had been bothering my mom by whining "Waaa  I can't find my iPoooood!" and then I got irritated because she kept ignoring me and showing no sympathy for my problems, and she came into my room to help me look and THEN I decided to empty my bag and pat it and I found it. Of course. But yea, glee!

I went to the mall on Sunday and got Eclipse, the third in the Twilight series. I had been craving for a novel to completely immerse myself in, where I actually care about the characters and 50 pages fly by. And such a book is what I got, because I started Monday and finished today on the bus. How sad, now I must find something else to distract me from my studies. How convenient that Mrs Roberts just assigned a book for Psych, then.

With my new addition to my collection of books, I have been reminded of how little room I have for books. It's quite annoying. I have 2 shelves for them in my closet, both of which are double-rowed because of the height of books or the mere number. That, coupled with Steve coming in and telling me what I need to change about my room in order to get heat in my room, has led me to consider rearranging my room. I have an entire 4x4 corner that I have no access too that I could fit a nice bookcase into and I can get my closet cleaned up and whatnot. But I won't do it immediately, of course. Don't want him thinking that I actually took his advice about something when he refuses to pay me any respect as a young adult.

On an unrelated note, I'm tired of winter and I want spring to hurry up. The cold is especially annoying when they kinda trigger twitches and making what would be a shiver a full-on convulsive shrug. Or they're unrelated and are just coincidentally simultaneous. Either way it's annoying and unpleasant.

Starting today...

Happy Birthday to me! From this day forth, I am now legally able to do the following:
1. smoke
2. sign myself out of school
3. turn in transcript request forms etc without parental consent
4. gamble
5. buy porn
6. get into clubs
7. join online dating sites
8. drink in europe (it's 18 there, right?)
9. have a credit card
10. go to the doctors without parents
11. drive past 11
12. cannot claim statutory rape
13. be tried as an adult
14. go to court
15. go to jail

I'm sure there's more but it was hard thinking up 10! Huzzah for being able to do everything that I have no interest in doing anyway! Except not needing to bring forms home for mom to sign for school is nice, especially since I always forget.

Oh, and Happy Bubblewrap Day! *pop* *pop* *pop*

Obligatory Christmas Post

Merry Christmas everyone! Late post ftw

This year Mom decided to have a nice stay-at-home Christmas this year. Despite my protesting because I felt we should have seen family even if we didn't want to, it was fun. I realized that we got to miss the drama that usually ensues at Christmas dinner with my maternal grandparents, so it was all good. Besides, we're seeing them today, so all is well.

So far I got everything that I had asked for and not too much useless stuff that will sit in the back of the closet for years like I usually do. Got a new printer and a gamecube, along with some games (I suck at Super Smash Bros but Wind Waker is SUPAH AWESOME) and some socks and lotion and crap like that. I did get a crapload of knitting stuff including a day calendar since the last time I was at my grandparents house they noticed that I was knitting a scarf. And I got my Fruits Basket dvds finally, but unfortunately they're bootlegs (damn Amazon Marketplace) so we'll have to see how bad the subs are. They mispelled consequences on the back as conse- quences.

And I still have presents from mi padre to look forward to! Huzza

Hey look, I'm posting news since its been forever and a half since the last one!

I got contacts! It took me like 2 hours to learn to put them in, but I think I've got it down now. The first two days the left one would go in fine, but my right eye would be all "Hahahahaha no. I'm gonna get all red and painful instead. Pwned!" But now it doesn't take me like half an hour for the entire process, and that makes me quite happy. And its a good thing too, because RIGHT AFTER I got them, I dropped my glasses in the Walmart parking lot and one ear-thing decided to go 90ยบ on me. The irony!

We got a bunch of scholarship stuff at school, but I really really really don't want to have to deal with any of it. No more applications Dx I'm already procrastinating putting together a meager resume so that Mrs Roberts will have something to write about in a recomendation letter for Baldwin-Wallace. I'm kinda hoping I won't get in cause if I did, I'd have to go to Ohio to check out the campus first, and that would mean spending like 72 hours with mom. Extreme exposure = frustration ahoy.

Despite how anal I was to get everyone to tell me what they wanted for xmas really early, I didn't bother actually PLACING the order with Amazon, and now I have to get the things elsewhere because I can't get it here any faster than after xmas. AND the only time I can do any shopping is on this saturday, a mere 3 days before the big day. *prays that I can find everything I need*

Lawrence, our new manager, started last Thursday. Since then, not even one week ago, 4 people quit. Chris quit friday, Britney quit saturday, and Kim walked out on sunday, and then Toni quit yesterday. It kinda really stunk cause Chris and Britney were really good and what they did, and though Kim and toni won't be so missed, it narrows the carryout people down to Paige and I. Paige will probably quit next because she can't handle the carryout rushes, which I can't blame her for. Oh, what fun. I may stick around un til my bday, if only because my coworkers will be the only one's who'll acknowledge it (<3 Janet) and then I'll have some more job opportunies, being 18.

This week, it drags on forever Dx

Step 1: Open up whatever MP3 program you use and add every song in your collection.
Step 2: Put it on random.
Step 3: Pick your favorite lines from the first 20 songs that play.
Step 4: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 5: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 6: DON'T GOOGLE THEM!

As per usual, Jap and anime songs have been omitted.Crank that music a little louder )

It would appear that my desktop has officially kicked it. There had been a bunch of power outages a while back and each time it got harder to get it to turn on, until it wouldn't work at all. So I've been on my laptop waiting for Pat to come home to fix it. In the end I managed to do it all (with many consultations) but it still didn't work. Pat doesn't know why and I don't know why, so I'm gonna have to find time to go to Fredrick to the Mac Store. But yea. Kinda sucks. And because my administration password is a) wrong or b) I forgot it, I can't download any new programs or update my old ones. So I tried making a new admin account and changing passwords and stuff, restarted, and then no passwords for ANYTHING would let me in. So I essentially locked myself out of my own computer. And THEN I decided to just reinstall OSX since I didn't have anything valuable on that computer anyways, and I keep getting an error. GRRRS. I would try to get Pat to fix it for me, but that won't happen for like ever cause he has his stuff to do, and he tends to forget whenever I ask him to do any other favors.

*GRRness abounds*

EDIT

Of course, 5 minutes after making this post, the laptop miraculously works again, AND my admin password works. Hahahahahahaha. Yet another crisis averted.

Kinda sad how all of our cars breaking in the same week didn't bother me at all, but when my computer acts up I freak out.

Or not.
